Calculating Moles of CS2 Formed

Reaction Equation:

The balanced chemical equation for the reaction is:

CH4 + 4S → CS2 + 2H2S

From the equation, it can be observed that 4 moles of S react to form 1 mol of CS2.

Calculations:

1 mol of S forms 1/4 = 0.25 mol of CS2

Therefore, if we have 10.6 mol of S, the calculation would be:

10.6 * 0.25 = 2.65 moles of CS2 can be formed.
